I am an American citizen, but born in Japan. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, lived and studied in France, then went back to Japan for a few years. Current adventures have brought me to settle in the wine-growing region of Lavaux, Switzerland.

Working as a freelance translator has enabled me to happily combine two of my passions, language and writing, into one fulfilling job. Working with a text to be translated, whether a marketing brochure for a vineyard, a website for a French cosmetics company, a documentary film script or music review, is an engaging exercise in writing and linguistic immersion. 

Translation is an art which requires patience, attention to detail, and often, a literary sensibility. A translator must also be an efficient member of the business community, flexible and quick to produce accurate, quality translations. I’m looking forward to meeting these goals on a new project with you!
